We go beyond just raising scores and grades. We work with our students so that they have a thorough knowledge of exam core content. We also incorporate time management, stress management, goal setting and critical exam strategies into all of our courses. It’s no wonder that our students come out with exceptional results and are placed at the top universities globally, such as UCLA, NYU, Stanford, UCSC, University of Vermont, and AUB to name a few.
At Sage, we use a combination of real ACT questions, as well as, exclusive, test prep material designed by PhD qualified American test preparation experts from top universities with over 25 years of experience. Our exclusive Math and Verbal guidebooks synthesize the latest exam preparation techniques that are designed to help students increase efficiency, avoid test traps, and build critical thinking and analysis skills. All of our full practice tests use ACT questions and are taken under real test conditions so that students gain an accurate sense of the level of difficulty, as well as, time constraints of the exam. Our sessions are practical and ensure students are active participants, enabling them to consolidate their new learning in readiness for application to the ACT question styles. Students often develop a negative ‘relationship’ with the ACT which forms barriers to their success; we ensure students feel confident within their strategies to not only improve but perform.
This is a common question that we hear from students. Your success is our success. SAGE is here to help you accomplish your goals and make sure that the profile you send to colleges highlights your most unique, and impressive qualities. Which exam you decide to undertake is crucial, and Sage is here to guide you through the process. The ACT Verbal sections are reading intensive and require thorough studying of vocabulary and content in order to perform well. The Math sections on the ACT and ACT require an understating of a similar range of topics. Some crucial differences are that the ACT contains a Science section and the questions tend to be more straightforward. The ACT tests students on their core knowledge rather than their ability to perform well on exams. The English test focuses more on grammar and logic and does not require students to study vocabulary intensely like the ACT does. Lastly, the essay tests students on their rhetorical analysis skills, while the ACT essay tests students’ ability to think critically.
What determines a good score is dependent on the level of competition surrounding the major and universities you wish to pursue. The score you need also depends on your overall profile including your grades, extracurricular activities, and any unique talents in order to determine acceptance. For example: A student with a 3.8 GPA and strong musical profile would be less reliant on a strong ACT score than someone with a 3.2 and limited additional talents. However, a strong profile for Ivy League Universities and Oxbridge require both a near perfect GPA and 1500 plus score. Working to smash the ACT gives each student an extra advantage towards securing a spot in their dream university. Remember, the average score for the new ACT is 1000. That means, if you score above 1000 you are scoring higher than 50 percent of test takers. However, this also means that half of all test takers are scoring higher than you. Use the time you have now by tackling the ACT prepared with SAGE.
